If you look out to sea just after takeoff on one of our Tiger Moth Joy Flights you may see the remaining wreckage of Queensland Airlines DC-3 VH-BBV. The aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Mackay early on the morning of the 14th of March 1954. Sadly both Captain E. W. White and First Officer G. Tait were lost in the accident. The aircraft was on a freight flight and had just delivered newspapers.
Below are links to additional information on this aircraft and photos of the remaining wreckage in 1954 and 2021.
